Light from the focal point passes through the magnification lens, creating a vivid image when you look through your scope. The scopes also have an added feature known as the crosshair. The crosshair indicates the exact spot of your shot, helping you to achieve a perfect target.
There are scopes that enable the shooter to observe targets at adjustable magnifications. For instance, using your scope you could view a target at a magnification of 3x to 9x.the 3x magnification is where images appear to the shooter at three times the size of the shooter would be able to see with the naked eyes. Adjusting the magnification is done by use of a power ring.
Aiming a target that is 100 yards away yields the shooter with a perfect image because most of the scope manufacturers set the scopes to a default 100-yard focus. When you alter this magnification setting, the result could be a parallax error. A parallax error is when the aim of a scope changes after you have changed the position of the eye. A shift in the shooters’ position could make it seem like the shooters’ aim is off even though the rifle remained still. The issue of parallax error only occurs at large magnification, and most experienced hunters are not troubled by this at all.
A shooter can also perfectly align the scope with the rifle by adjusting the scope using the various controls that come with some of the scopes. The sight of the scope can be affected by the elevation adjustment which alters the vertical settings and the windage adjustment which modifies the horizontal settings. Some of the manufacturers produce scopes equipped with variable objective lenses that help to deal with the parallax error issue.
The right mounting rings must be used to fix the scope on to the rifle. You must know the size of your scopes diameter to be sure about the rings you will use. Primarily, only two sizes of the scopes tube exist, 1-inch tubes and 30-millimetre tubes. Tubes are the main body of the scopes.
